2. Important Note About Switching Page Builders

Switching Between Builders Is Not Possible.

Starting with MyHome 4.0, there are now two independent paths for how MyHome integrates with WordPress, each based on a different Page Builder. These paths are fundamentally different, and many features available in one path are not be available in the other.

When you install MyHome 4.0 on a new WordPress site, you’ll be asked to choose between WPBakery or Elementor as your page builder. This choice is final and cannot be changed later. Due to fundamental differences in the database structure and how each builder integrates with WordPress, switching a site built with WPBakery to Elementor (or vice versa) is not possible. Simply removing WPBakery and installing Elementor will not work and will lead to significant site issues.

For websites built on MyHome 1.0–3.x, which were exclusively based on WPBakery, this option will not appear when updating to MyHome 4.0. The system will automatically recognize that your site was built with WPBakery, as Elementor was not supported in previous versions.

3. Background of the Decision to Build the New Demo on Elementor

Elementor has become the most popular page builder in the WordPress community due to its user-friendly interface, flexibility, and extensive customization options. While WPBakery was a great solution for years, we recognized that the web development landscape is shifting, and many users prefer Elementor for its simplicity and real-time editing capabilities. The decision to introduce Elementor in MyHome 4.0 was driven by the need to provide users with a more modern, accessible, and powerful tool for building real estate websites.

4. What Happens to the Old WPBakery Version

MyHome 4.0 continues to fully support the WPBakery Page Builder for all users with websites built on MyHome 1.0-3.x. Your current WPBakery-built website will remain functional, and you will continue to receive updates to ensure compatibility with new WordPress versions and plugins. Basicly after update from MyHome 1.0-3.X to MyHome 4.0. you are using MyHome 4.X in WP Bakery variant.

5. Comparing Elementor Demos to WPBakery Demos – Benefits and Limitations

Elementor Path do not cover same options WP Bakery Path has. Main difrences are that Elementor Path do not offer:

- WPML Compatibility

- Revolution Slider

- Front-End Agent Panel:

- There are difrences in custom fields structure, Elementor version offer more flexibility but in some areas may has less options e.g. Price Range field is not available

6. Support and Future Updates for Both Versions

Both WPBakery and Elementor will continue to be supported in future updates of MyHome. Users can expect ongoing compatibility with WordPress and plugin updates, as well as bug fixes and performance improvements for both versions. While new features and demos will primarily focus on Elementor, WPBakery users will not be left behind, and critical updates will continue for this version.

7. Guidance for Existing Users

If you're an existing user with a WPBakery-built website, there’s no need to worry. Your site will continue to function as usual, and you’ll receive the necessary updates to keep it running smoothly. If you’re satisfied with WPBakery, there’s no reason to switch. However, if you’re interested in the enhanced functionality and ease of use offered by Elementor, you may consider starting a new project with the Elementor-based demo.

8. Recommendations for New Users

For new users, we highly recommend choosing Elementor as the page builder for your MyHome website. Elementor provides a modern, user-friendly experience with real-time editing, extensive design options, and a fast learning curve. It’s the best option for users looking to create a professional real estate website with minimal effort and maximum customization flexibility.

In Summary:

MyHome 4.0 brings a new and exciting option with Elementor, while still supporting the classic WPBakery version. If you've been using WPBakery, you can continue to do so without any problems. But for new users or those looking for a modern page builder experience, Elementor is the recommended choice.

However, please note that you cannot switch between the two builders once you've started a project, so choose the one that best fits your needs.
